Some patients require further support and additional techniques for relaxation. In such situations, we offer sedation therapies to relieve anxiety. Your dentist will discuss your options before your treatment.
Intravenous sedation is administered into a vein in your arm. It works quickly to leave you in a deep state of relaxation. You will be awake during the surgery but often feel sleepy, with little memory of the procedure afterward.
Your dentist will also need numb the affected tooth and surrounding area to carry out the procedure (if necessary).
If you choose an intravenous sedation therapy, you will need to have a member of your family or a friend escort you home after your treatment.
